Overall it's fine, but not spectacular. Snacks are overpriced, as is the norm for all theaters these days. Biggest complaint is that the movie was slotted to start, but the screen dimmed for 20 minutes while we listened to pre-movie material. There is obviously video that goes with it, yet for some reason they choose not to show it. Try explaining that to a 6 year old. Five minutes, not so bad, 20 on the other hand even had me being impatient. If I'd known that, we'd have shown up at 4:15 for a movie that was scheduled for 4.
Friendly staff. Good selection of snacks/drinks. Clean, good quality. Over-priced (but what theater isn't?).
THE BIG DDD Theater experience is one of the best that I've experienced. I wish more Decatur, Alabama locals wouldn't travel to Huntsville to experience great movies. But, instead, spend your money here in your home town, and rebuild Decatur, and show businesses that we would support them. Our Mall is updated, and beautiful now. Maybe..... In order to build a city that you claim that has nothing..... you should build your city by shopping there. You rebuild business by building it back up.
Never had a problem with this theater. Went to it tons of times every since it was build. It kept me from have to go to Huntsville to see decent movies, until the old theater that was behind the mall. There is a lot of wasted space in the theater. Sometimes the near the coke machines isn't clean or the floor.
The theater was clean and the employees were hospitable. But my overall viewing experience was basically ruined. Near the end of my movie they decided to turn on the lights about 10 minutes before my movie was over in the middle of a very dark scene. I'm not talking about the dimming lights I'm talking about the overhead ballasts.
