Doctor Matthews is great at listening to patients. My issue is with the main nurse Pam. She is a total b____. That's the only way to explain her. After the last of several issues with her we spoke with the office manager and she made the nurse call us and apologize. Then we began to have issues with the billing department requiring us to pay for services in spite of our Medicare and BcBs insurance. This something we haven't done in 20 years. After several weeks of calls and letters the money was paid back to us. Then we received a certified letter telling they could no longer see us and we should find a new doctor and they would send our 25 years of records to the new doctor. After 8 months it still has not happened. A heatless place with the exception of Dr Matthews, Barbara at the front desk and CRNP Barraza.
Great experience at Gill Family Medicine!! I came in as a new patient. The staff was friendly and had my paperwork ready for me to begin filling out as soon as I arrived. I only waited in the lobby for a few minutes before I was called back to the exam room. I described why I was there and the doctor gave me honest straightforward patient care. He answered all of my questions and concerns, then simply explained the next steps, without talking over my head. I felt very taken care of and was highly pleased with my care. Thanks for making my experience painless!
Dr. Edwin Matthews is great. he's very compassionate and while talking with him it doesn't seem like your just a name on his clipboard. He is very friendly with a relaxed demeanor.
Always have an issue with rudeness from the staff. After almost every visit I’ve been billed for a mysterious charge that I was not made aware of before the visit. I recently went in for my routine check up so Mr.Barraza could continue to fill my medications, I paid my co-pay and an additional fee for having prescriptions called in after hours. Before leaving the office I of course stop by the check out window and am informed that I am paid in full. A week or so later I receive an additional bill which is then explained to me is because a general practitioner charges extra for a “mental” health code and that because I had no “physical” issue that’s how it was billed. If I had been informed of this I would have just seen a therapist instead but because I have ALWAYS received my anxiety and depression medication from my general practitioner I was not aware. Now that Mr. Barraza is leaving this practice I will not continue to use them nor recommend that anyone does.
